What are some iconic women’s costumes?
I've been invited to a fancy dress party. The theme is "Good Vs Evil" and I need some ideas as to who I can go as. I've got, like no money, so I can't afford a really expensive costume. Anyone think of any really cool women I can go as?
* Eve - Not exactly fancy but definitely inexpensive. You only need some strategically placed fig leafs and maybe a fake snake and an apple.
* Salomé - Wear the infamous "Dance of the 7 Veils" costume.
* Cleopatra
* An angel
* Mother Teresa - again, not fancy but cheap and easy outfit
* Lizzie Borden - She came from a wealthy family and lived during the Victorian era so the dress can be as fancy as you like.... just add an ax!
* Pocahontas
* Bonnie (as in Bonnie & Clyde)
* Any Disney "princess" - Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.
* Rapunzel
* Helen of Troy

swimming costumes – why do women get to cover up and men have to wear a little speedo?
i like going swimming, but i do not like walking to the pool from the changing room - (its embarrassing walking around in underwear) and it often puts me off going swimming in the first place, but why do men wear a speedo while women can cover up wearing a one piece (this seems to be sexual discrimination of the highest order). swim shorts is just as much as a problem, and create unecessary drag while swimming. its not that i hate my body and i don't want to wear a womens suit but what else is there? a wetsuit? and i'm not going to buy one of those professional things (no matter how cool they look) am i the only one who feels like this?
I am sorry honey but you have got it all backwards.... Women are the ones expected to go in almost nothing and look perfect in it. Big fat men where what ever they want and don't seem to care..... Get over it.

What is the best website to find plus-size women’s Halloween costumes?
Looking for a 3x size, but sometimes 2x will work -- just extra-large is probably too small.
I recommend buycostumes.com! They have a good selection and are reasonably priced! Good luck!
little women costumes ??
I am auditioning for the play Little Women and the directors told us to wear costumes and use props but I don't really have anything. Does anyone have an idea of something that I could use from normal clothes or objects because I don't have time to buy something. Thanks!
A long, full, floor length skirt, a fitted button-up shirt with all of the buttons buttoned up to the neck. If you have long hair, pull it back into a bun (not the messy style of today) and do not overdo the makeup--simple blush and light lipstick, if any.
Pretty Women – Sweeney Todd Remake
We do not claim ownership of the song "Pretty Women," rights to the musical by Stephen Sondheim, or the 2007 film Sweeney Todd.
BUT, it is us singing!

"At last!" We are proud to present another Sweeney Todd remake. This summer we attempted to recreate the climactic scene Pretty Women. Everything - from the set and costumes you see to the sound effects you hear - was created by us. We had a lot of fun with this project, so enjoy and please comment / rate!

What’s a website with lots of illustrations of historical costumes, men and women, of different centuries?
I used to have a website bookmarked that had a bunch of impressive color illustrations of what people wore in different countries at different times all over the world, it was very useful for reference and interesting too. I can't seem to track it down again, any help would be appreciated.
Would it be the Costumers' Manifesto? It has the history of costume, and over the world, and each section has plenty of links:
